For nearly 60 years, Barr Brothers Funeral Home and Wefelmeyer Funeral Home have served the Cloquet Community and surrounding area in a tradition that places great emphasis on providing a high degree of personalized service. Each has earned a reputation for quality and integrity, and each has shown a strong commitment to the area through their community involvement.

Tim and Mary Handevidt, the owners now that the Barr Brothers and Wefelmeyer families have retired from funeral service, are proud to be a part of the heritage. The Handevidts consolidated the two separate funeral home facilities into one in 2004, for the convenience of the families and the community they serve. By doing this they were able to provide all the families they are privileged to serve with one of the finest funeral facilities in Northern Minnesota.

The new owners also renamed the funeral home to “Handevidt Funeral Home”. This was done to reduce confusion and clarify that they are your hometown locally owned and operated funeral home, dedicated to serving the greater Cloquet area. The Handevidt’s are proud to carry on the tradition of funeral service excellence begun by their predecessors, the Barr and Wefelmeyer families. They are committed to continuing that tradition and personally attending to the needs of the families they serve.

Tim’s many years of experience, along with their dedicated staff, offers over 150 years of funeral service experience, assuring expertise in all aspects of Funeral service. During both Advance Planning or at the time of need, their reputation of providing experienced and personal service, convenient and accommodating facilities always has been, and will continue to be extremely important to this area.

They work hard to maintain the tradition for quality and integrity and are committed to providing it to this community for many years to come.
