Grace Louise WagnerNovember 10, 1944 ~ July 30, 2017 (age 72)
With courage and faith, Grace Wagner, 72, of Saginaw, MN died Sunday, July 30, 2017 at home, her loving husband and family at her side.
Grace was born November 10, 1944 in Hermantown, MN to Walter and Betty (Madden) Milberger. A 1963 graduate of Albrook High School, in Saginaw, Grace worked at Lighthouse for the Blind and as a home daycare provider. Her life’s work, however, was as her husband’s partner in more than a half-century of family farming. Grace and George raised five children. For years they ran a small dairy farm in Brookston and sold plants and produce as Stony Brook Greenhouse and Garden. Grace, George, their children and grandchildren are all familiar faces at farmer’s markets in Duluth and other venues. Grace lived as a model of integrity, dignity, love and, true to her name, grace.
Grace is survived by her husband, George; their five children, Peter Wagner, Helene (Mark, deceased) Bong, Rebecca Wagner, Ann (Eric) Ringham, and Joel (Heather) Wagner; grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Paige, Gavin and Nora Wagner, Joseph Bong; Madeleine and Peter Ringham; brother, Richard (Maureen) Milberger; and sister-in-law, Lynn Milberger (the late Russell Milberger).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, Duluth, MN Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM with a noon lunch. Arrangements are with Souder-Handevidt Funeral & Cremation Service (www.handevidtfh.com).
