Rodney Ronald SimonMay 2, 1947 ~ July 17, 2017 (age 70)
Rodney Ronald Simon, 70, died Monday, July 17, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born on May 2, 1947 in Littlefork, MN to Edward and Nellie (Covel) Simon.
Ronnie “Si” grew up and lived in Int’l Falls, MN for most of his life. He was a devout Catholic and a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas church. He worked as a pipefitter for Boise Cascade for 40 years. Ronnie loved spending time with his family, which brought him to currently live in Cloquet, MN. He never missed cheering on his grandchildren in whatever activity they were participating in. Ronnie also enjoyed taking long drives with his wife, Ruby June, watching the ships come in, taking care of his “granddogs” and watching NY Yankee baseball. He was a loving husband, dad, Papa, uncle and brother who will be greatly missed and remembered.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers Edward and Tom, and Sister Noella.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Olson); Daughters: Mindi (Jamie) Pollard and Niki (Justin) Harriman; Son: Sevon (Jolen) Simon; Grandchildren: Cooper Grashorn, Keelee Grashorn, Bella Harriman and Bo Harriman; Brothers: Leonard (Margaret), Frank (Trudy), Gerry, Larry (Bev); Sisters: Irene, Rose Marie, Mary Nell and Renee (Don) and numerous nieces and nephews.
No formal services for Ronnie are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are by Souder-Hardevidt Funeral and Cremation Service, Cloquet, MN.
Ronnie’s family extends a special “Thank You” to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at St. Luke’s Hospital.
