Patrick James Diver “Giigoohwens” 60, of Cloquet, MN died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.
Patrick was born October 7, 1957 to Ernest Diver Sr. and Judy Isaacson in Cloquet, MN, where he was also raised. As an adult, he worked many years at the Black Bear Casino and at the Fond du Lac RBC in human resources and was a member of Fond du Lac tribe of Lake Superior Ojibwe.
Patrick lived a very simple life. He loved to go rummaging, play Bingo, and to spend time with family and friends. Everyone loved his fry bread!
Survivors include Patrick’s children, Sarah Diver, Grandon Diver, Sheila Diver, and Patrick Diver, Jr.; 23 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; his 4 brothers Ernest (Bernice) Diver, Paul (Renee) Diver, Keith (Lynn) Diver, Kelly (Mary) Diver; 3 sisters Pamela Diver, Roxanne Johnson Diver (Brian Johnson) Suzanne Brisbois Diver (Pete Brisbois); special friends, Tammy, Deb, Annette, Chris; and grandson, Bill, whom he raised. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents Ernie and Judy Diver and one twin sister; several nieces and nephews.
A traditional wake will begin Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fond du Lac Headstart Gymnasium in Cloquet and will continue until the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018.
